4 Minutes of the meetings held on 15 November
2022
Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council
Meeting was proposed by Cllr Parish, seconded by Cllr Ellis and signed by the Chairman.
Matters Arising
It was reported that the Status of Beckwithshaw
school was improving.
5 Urgent
Business
– The Parish Council
Vacancy has now been filled, Cllr Mr Steven
Bench
– Confirmation that request for £904.80 towards the
purchase
and installation of a new bench - The Broxap 75 is the
bench
we would like to purchase. Grant form to
fill out.
VAS
- Continue to seek funding.
6 Finances The bank balances at 10 January 2023 were reported
to the Parish Council:

to investigate the possibility of a ‘Debit Card’ for some payments.

Request 2023/2024 of £7,655.00 was sent to HBC 5/12/22.

deadline dates for applications for North Yorkshire Council Community Grants
is
6 June 2023. Consider for next meeting
any items that could be funded.

10 Local Plan
Awaiting a date for the
next Stakeholders Meeting.
The Local Plan will be
reviewed under the new council, but the existing
plan will remain in place
till then.
11 Traffic
and Highways
Pot
hole and damaged Chevrons on Shaw lane have been repaired.
Work
to replace the Double Yellow Lines and the “School” Road
marking
on Otley road is still awaited. A response had been received
from
Customer Services in November re the double yellow lines, they
have
put in another request to Boroughbridge (they apologise for the
delay)
Flooding
on Pot Bank, gullies have been cleaned but water still runs
down
the hill causing flooding on the bridge and icey patches on the
carriage
way.
The
owners of Mill House at the junction of the B6161 and Shaw Lane
In Beckwithshaw
have reported water flooding their property. Both HBC
and
NYCC have been approached, but with no satisfactory result.
County
Cllr Hull to contact Area 6 and the Highways Executive. Parish
Council
Chairman to draft a letter to Cllr Richard Flinton re this matter.
On
the road to Beckwith (HG3 1QQ) there are several large areas of
Flooding.

12 Copse
and Grass cutting
The
path near the roundabout, school and down to Sandringham House
has
been cleared of leaves and looks very smart.
Parish
Council to review signage etc. with a ‘Walk About’ (18/01/2023) in
the
village area, for discussion next month.
Cllr
Parish to confirm acceptance of the quote for tree works in the
Copse.
Contractor will request TPO’s for relevant trees.
February
meeting ask for quotes re verge grass cutting etc.
13 Correspondence EE are working on their network on 13 January
in the
Washburn
area so there maybe some problems.
