MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Thursday 12 September 2019

Members of the public were present.
In
the Open Part of the meeting Councillor Stan Lumley was robustly questioned by Councillors
and members of the public regarding the condition of the roads and footpaths
and how to get them improved (based on our current experience of lack of
response when reporting such issues on the Parish Portal), how we might
influence current development proposals and how the planning system works.

Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council
Meeting held on 13 June 2019 was proposed by Cllr David, seconded by Cllr Mrs
Ryder and signed by the Chairman.
5. Matters arising not dealt with elsewhere: None.
6. Traffic Working Party Report:
The VAS is to be situated on near the junction
of the B6161 with Shaw Lane,
it will be rotated 180 degrees every 10 weeks,
thus classifying it as “temporary”. Cllr Lumley offered £500 from his
Councillors fund to pay for the installation of the post which will hold the
VAS.
7. Urgent Business:
a) Western Arc Group On 10 October Cllr Ellis and David to
attend and keep
Parish Council informed. Councillor Gordon to attend
Parish Council Meeting to ensure we are quorate.
b) Newsletter Chairman
and Parish Clerk to compose. Include residents
in
new housing estate.
c) Litter Pick To
be held on Saturday 2 November 2019. Meeting in
Village Hall Car Park at 10.00am.
Rock salt in Village
Hall hut to be removed.
8. County Councillor’s Report: County Hall in Northallerton is being refurbished over the
next 10/12 months to
meet modern requirements, the
offices will be temporarily
housed in the Old Court House.

Hall Rock salt to be moved at
Litter Pick.
ii) Newsletters and e-mails
forwarded to councillors.
15. Update on the
Copse: Community Payback has cleaned up the
copse and will be
clearing the footpath
beside the B6162 towards Harrogate.
16. Councillors Questions: A copy of the Parish Council’s Standing
Orders to be sent to Councillors.
